Dear JISK Community,
I hope this message finds you well and relaxed after summer break.
As your child is embarking upon a new phase, or is continuing in their education journey, we are here to ensure that their experiences are supported in an environment that fosters their growth and well-being.
Orientation morning will begin on Friday September 1st. The purpose of the orientation is to allow students to meet their teachers and familiarize (or re-familiarize) themselves. At this time, educators may go over key information pertaining to the school day, timings, uniforms, etc. Please note this is not a one-on-one conference for each individual student.
Students/Parents are encouraged, at this time, to ask questions and clear up and concerns. You are also encouraged to bring your child's supplies to school on this day. Please ensure that each item is marked/labelled with your child's name.
Student and Parent handbooks will be shared with you electronically. They include more details and additional information.
We look forward to welcoming all our precious Jewels back on Tuesday September 5th. School will begin promptly at 8:00 am.
If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us via email.
Kind Regards,
JISK Administration
Jewels International School of Kinshasa (JISK) is privately owned and was founded in 1972 due to the demand of families who wanted affordable, quality English education. JISK began in a small garage adjacent to the Munshi Residence with only five toddlers. As the student body grew, so did the school.
In September 2002 construction for the new school building was completed on 2 hectares of land. JISK is now a double story building situated in the Commune of Ngaliema, a residential area, ten minutes from Kinshasa's city center.
JISK strives to impart knowledge to every student in a friendly, safe, culturally rich, and cognitively stimulating environment. We aspire to create a culture where each student and parent feels welcomed, respected, trusted, and an important part of the organization. We maintain an inclusive structure where students from diverse communities and cultural backgrounds identify a sense of belonging and develop a positive self-image with a love of learning.
