Classrooms are bright, spacious, and fully air-conditioned. A library, computer lab, science lab and a large art room make up the infrastructure. Students enjoy the benefits of large, enclosed playing fields, a multipurpose hall, and a complete jungle gym playground JISK also houses a privately owned canteen that offers students a variety of snacks and food at an additional fee.
JISK also houses a Mindfulness Room, a Kitchen and a Nurse.
In 2013 JISK wrote a new mission statement. At the core, JISK tries to offer quality education at an affordable price. The current mission statement reads as follows:
JISK guarantees each student the right to a superior education, in a friendly, safe, culturally rich, and stimulating environment. We strive to create a climate where each student and parent feels welcomed, respected, trusted, and an important part of JISK Each student will be provided with quality instruction and challenging learning experiences to foster lifelong learning and responsible citizenship.
JISK is the first school in the DRC to offer the IB PYP program. We are now working towards IB MYP authorization. We are continually striving for excellence while maintaining an affordable, internationally recognized educational system.
